Please listen to me. I am asking you to cast your vote for Mina Joanna Nichols for Ventura County clerk and recorder.
Mina is a hard worker, honest, dependable and ethical. Did I mention she is aware and intelligent? Well, that's a plus, isn't it?
She is an ordinary citizen, wife and mother and is hoping to be elected to office to try to effect a change. There is no political hack with big bucks managing her campaign. So I would ask you to draw the thin line on your ballot connecting the arrow that chooses your vote for Mina.
The bottom line is that she would be an excellent choice to sit in that office so please join me with your vote.
- Dolores Strickland,
Oxnard

Anybody can "sit in that office." The real question is whether she can manage and lead the office; whether she understands the laws enough to make the executive decisions that the office demands; and whether she can interact knowledgeably and professionally with the dozens of other government agencies who have a stake in the office's functions. Or will she be a simple bookmark, holding a place while the office goes on without a leader? Mina has already proved she doesn't understand the law by filing (under oath, in case anybody forgot) an election law complaint which she has since withdrawn after several people pointed out her error. She does not understand the actual duties of the office, shown by her idea that the Recorder has some independent duty to investigate the fairness of every document that is filed. You can be sure that the professionals in the office will find no reason to respect her when she tells them she wants to use the office to assist her in stopping fracking in Ventura County. And finally, imagine the result when she gets into meetings with the other 25 elected officials and appointed agency heads who actually know what they are doing. Those are the reasons why you don't want somebody who is only qualified to "sit in that office."

Search these comment boards and see for yourself how unqualified and prejudicial Mina is. I'm all for new blood but it shouldn't be a scab.

Don't speak to reveal.... like Sterling Well she is part of the 203 posts here on the Star's endorsement of Lunn She has pontificated @ length several times as to her goals. I asked her to copy & paste them in one long post so we can read and decide.
I also posed to her questions about the office budget, personnel issues; even the county web site which is her strength as a "former" technical writer.......NO reply.
Sorry she has blown over $2200 of her family money to no avail.
I am NOT a big Lunn supporter but she gives us NO choice.
