Redevelopment agencies - better off dead - SFGate

Redevelopment agencies - better off dead - SFGate: "California's fiscal condition remains tenuous. A study released in January and conducted by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University ranked the Golden State 46th in terms of financial health. While California has made improvements, the report notes, the process "can be slow and difficult."

Indeed.

And the resurrection of scores of state redevelopment agencies with significantly greater powers to funnel local tax revenues away from schools and other services while running roughshod over property owners would represent a significant regression in that "slow and difficult" effort.
